Meet the Owner
Andy, one of the owners of Perry’s Service and Towing, carries on a family-run business that’s been part of the community since the 1970s. Over the years, he’s helped evolve the car wash from a hands-on operation into a more modern, automated experience, without losing its local feel.
As he shares in our YouTube video, customers can now pull in, stay in their vehicle, and let the system do the work. With high-pressure bays, hot water for winter use, space for larger vehicles like trucks, and updated payment options, Perry’s is built for both convenience and reliability.
About Perry’s Car Wash
As Andy explains in our first YouTube video, the experience has changed dramatically over the years. “It used to be all hand washing,” he says. “Now people can pull in, stay in their vehicle, and let the system do the work.” That balance of convenience and quality has been a driving force behind every upgrade at Perry’s.
Today, the facility is designed with both performance and practicality in mind. Each bay is equipped with its own high-pressure pump system, offering soap, rinse, and tire cleaning options. Hot water keeps things running smoothly during harsh Midwest winters, supported by an underground system that allows for year-round operation. The bays are also enclosed to provide protection from the elements, something customers especially appreciate in colder months.
Perry’s is built to handle more than just standard vehicles. The larger bay design makes it easier for trucks and oversized vehicles to fit comfortably, setting it apart from many typical car washes. Recent updates have also introduced automated payment options, allowing customers to use credit cards or cash directly in the bays, along with upgraded vacuum stations that accept card payments for added convenience.
The Roofing Challenge
Perry’s commercial flat roof had decades of wear, including:
Multiple layers of gravel, asphalt, adhesive, concrete, and fiber board
Trapped moisture causing damage
Rotted perimeter wood
To create a long-lasting solution, we removed every layer and prepped the surface for a new EPDM membrane. Beyond simply replacing the roof, we:
Installed ¼” slope to improve drainage
Upgraded insulation for energy efficiency
Moved the drain system from the front to the back
Added gutters and downspouts to prevent water pooling
Replaced rotted wood and reinforced the perimeter
Installed metal panels for enhanced durability
Every step focused on one goal: diverting water efficiently and protecting the building for the long term.
